Cottage on the Leeds, Liverpool canal

This painting I completed in the last few days. The location is about a mile from my studio at Haskayne. It's a view of the cottage, which sits on the Leeds and Liverpool canal. In the far distance, on the hill, a glimps of Christ church, Aughton, nr. Ormskirk. The church is a local landmark and can be seen from most areas. In the days of sailing ships it served as a landmark for ships approaching the port of Liverpool. I passed this cottage last Autumn and was struck by the changing colours.
