Hello, I'm an artist working and living near the city of Liverpool in the United Kingdom and I'd like to share both my work, and my experience working as a full-time artist and art teacher.
As any artist will tell you, trying to earn a living from one's art is, yes, very difficult! But that's what I've been doing for a number of years... Though, if I were a hard headed businessman, I would have given up years ago, rather than live life as an artist just bumping along financially. However, even if money weren't a problem, I'd still be painting! If you'd like to see the kind of paintings I produce, then please visit my webpage at: www.roymunday.com. I certainly welcome constructive feedback. Over the next month or so, I will be producing more paintings based on Liverpool, both its buildings and people. As you probably know, Liverpool in this 2008 year is Europe's Capital of Culture. Mind you, while many good and fantisic things will be happening in Liverpool over this year, as for grass-root artists, such as myself, it's not all positive. I had a studio virtually in the heart of the city, but when Liverpool was announced as the capital of culture - all the money speculators moved in, and rents shot up! Many of us poor artists were forced out! Now the speculators can hardly give the luxury flats away!
